IS THERE A BLUE CARD IN FIFA FUTSAL RULES?
In the FIFA Futsal modality, which existed since 1989 (see more on Futsal History) there is NO blue card, just the traditional yellow card and red card.
Has there ever been a blue card in FIFA Futsal Rules?
NO! In the FIFA Futsal created in 1989 there was never a blue card.
But where did this story of the blue Card in Futsal come from? Read below and understand.
IS THERE A BLUE CARD IN FIFUFA/AMF RULES?
Yes, in FIFUSA/AMF Futsal or FIFUSA/AMF Indoor Soccer, there is a blue card.
What is FIFUSA/AMF?
FIFUSA (International Indoor Soccer Federation) was the international entity that controlled all Indoor Soccer until 1989, when FIFA entered the dispute for control of the sport and created Futsal.
Today FIFUSA has become AMF.
AMF/FIFUSA is the worldwide controller of the FIFUSA Futsal modality or, simply, Indoor Soccer and since the division of Futsal into two modalities, it organizes and controls this other Futsal modality with its own rules, with several continental and national affiliated entities, including the Brazilian CNFS (National Confederation of Indoor Football).
HOW IS THE BLUE CARD IN FIFUSA FUTSAL?
The Blue Card in FIFUSA Futsal is nothing more than a disciplinary punishment sanctioned, followed with a substitution of the punished player.
Cases leading to blue card punishment:
- Second verbal warning or second yellow card;
- Direct blue card occurs when there is an act of serious indiscipline with offensive gestures, attitudes or words in general or a violent action with the ball in play that is manifestly dangerous to the physical integrity of the opponent.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BLUE AND RED CARD
It is important to note that the red card also exists in FIFUSA Futsal.
- Blue Card – replacement is immediate and the disqualified athlete cannot return to the game;
- Red Card – when a player receives a red card and is expelled from the match, he must withdraw from the court. The team will have one player less on the court for the time of 02 minutes or until the suffers a goal.
See when the red card is applied in FIFUSA Futsal modality:
- For serious act of rough play and violent behavior;
- Spitting at an opponent or anyone else;
- Use offensive, rude and obscene language.
