TIPS ON HOW TO PLAY FUTSAL VERY WELL
You will find in this article 3 tips on how to play Futsal very well, simple and objective tips for you to improve your level as a Futsal player.
TIP 1 – FUTSAL PHYSICAL CONDITIONING
In Futsal, as in any sport, your technical performance will always be linked to your physical condition. A poorly prepared athlete will always have his technical performance limited.
IMPORTANT!
Never do physical training without the guidance of a qualified physical education professional and always consult a doctor before starting to do any activity that will require a hard effort of your body.
-
ENDURANCE
Futsal is a long length physical exercise, so endurance is essential for you to play Futsal. If you have poor physical endurance, your technical performance in the game will drop a lot depending on the playing time.
To train and develop your physical endurance, do long-duration physical exercises, such as running or cycling for long distances.
- STRENGTH
The development of the muscular strength of the legs is very important to play Futsal well, as it is essential for you to kick better, make long-distance passes and also to win the “body to body” disputes with the opponents.
To train muscle strength you need to do weight training exercises, lifting or pushing weights with a series of few repetitions and a lot of intensity.
-
SPEED AND AGILITY
Speed and Agility are also physical components that are widely needed in Futsal.
You can train speed and agility with exercise circuits that involve short running and obstacles that require a lot of change of direction.
You can train these physical components by creating activity with the ball that involves speed and change of direction.
TIP 2 – USE THE RIGHT FUTSAL TECHNIQUES
It is very common to see athletes playing Futsal using techniques brought from Soccer, that are not suitable for Futsal.
Get to know the techniques that should be AVOIDED, and the right techniques to use in a Futsal game.
-
Spinning kick (three toes)
The Futsal ball is smaller and heavier than the ball used on Soccer, so it does not make a lot of curves or does not “get much effect”, so the “flat” kick, with the instep, is more efficient and more indicated in the Futsal.
- Control the ball with the inside or outside part of the foot
Control the ball with the inside or outside of the foot is not recommended in a Futsal game, because there is less space in the field, and controlling the ball in this way can make it escape and the opponent “steal” the ball.
In Futsal, the most used control technique is “stepping”, which is done by stepping on the ball with the front part of the sole.
- Try long dribbles using strength and speed
Do you recall that dribble, very common in soccer, where the player moves the ball ahead and run as fast as possible to try to get rid of the opponent using speed and strength? This would hardly work on Futsal.
The Futsal court is much smaller than a soccer field and, therefore, there is hardly room for this type of dribble.
In Futsal, dribbling is short, using a lot of creativity, skill, and change of direction.
TIP 3 – TATICTAL INTELLIGENCE
First, get to know the Futsal players’ positions and the basic function of each one.
Futsal positions are, in addition to the goalkeeper, the defender, the wingers, the target (pivot) and the goalkeeper as a normal player.
Second, get to know the Futsal tactical systems and the standard movements that can be made from them.
A good Futsal player must know how to occupy spaces on the court well and do this in sync with his teammates.
