The 6-0 Formation in Volleyball is used with beginning Volleyball players.

In the 6-0 Formation the players have no specialized function.

In the 6-0 Formation all of the players play the roles of Serve Reception, Setting and Attacking, depending on the position they occupy in the rotation.

Usually, the player occupying position 3 in the rotation is responsible for the Setting.

All of the other players must help in the Serve reception.

The players occupying positions 2 and 4 in the rotation are the main options for the attack.

4-2 Formation in Volleyball

The 4-2 Formation is formed by 2 Setters and 4 Hitters.

In the 4-2 Formation, the Setters are always opposite to each other in the rotation, that is, the team will have, at all times, a Setter in the front zone and a Setter in the back zone.

The Setter positioned in the front zone in the rotation will be responsible for the Sets.

The Setter positioned in the back zone will take part in the Serve reception.

The main advantage of the 4-2 Formation in Volleyball is always having a specialized Setter in the front zone to perform the Sets.

The difference between the simple 4-2 Formation and the 4-2 Formation with Infiltration is that the Setter positioned in the front zone acts as an attacker and the Setter positioned in the back zone always infiltrates the front zone to perform the set.

The main difficulty in the 4-2 Formation with Infiltration consists in the shift in the position of the Setter positioned in the back zone, who always needs to infiltrate the front zone to perform the set.

The main advantage of the 4-2 Formation with Infiltration is that the team always has three hitters in the front zone.

5-1 Formation in Volleyball

The 5-1 Formation is the formation of highest level in Volleyball, used by high-performance teams.

In the 5-1 Formation all of the players have specialized functions.
